Educating is the action of promoting education, which comprises all processes, institutionalized or not, that aim to transmit certain knowledge and standards of behavior in order to ensure the continuity of the culture of a society.
In the broadest sense to educate is to socialize, is to transmit the habits that enable the individual to live in a society, habits that begin in early childhood, implying adjustment to certain cultural patterns.
To educate is to stimulate, develop and guide the individual's skills, in accordance with the ideals of a given society. It is to improve and develop the physical, intellectual and moral faculties, it is to prepare the citizen for life.
To educate is to teach, is to transmit knowledge, is to instruct. The institutional character of education becomes clear when it is manifested in its most concrete form, which is the school, in charge of preparing and training the individual for his future professional life.
In all cultures, mechanisms for the perpetuation of education are found, in the form of norms that determine some basic relationships between parents and children, between young and old, between teachers and students, the mere coexistence of generations is responsible for completing the education.
Educate in the Constitution
The Federal Constitution in its article 205 establishes that “Education, a right for all and a duty of the State and the family, will be promoted and encouraged with the collaboration of society, aiming at the full development of the person for the exercise of citizenship and their qualification for the work”. Therefore, the action of educating is a duty of the family and the State and must be fostered by society.
