Meaning of Access (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Access is the masculine noun from Latin accessus and that can mean ticket, path or the act of arriving or approaching.

This word also indicates the possibility of reaching or enjoying something. Ex: Unfortunately, in our country many people do not have access to basic medical care.

In the context of medicine, an attack indicates a sudden attack, a pathological phenomenon that appears and disappears periodically, in which case it can be synonymous with an attack or crisis. Ex: Everyone is afraid to deal with him because they know he often has tantrums.

Access can also be admission to some organization or institution. Ex: Your grades were very low, and therefore your access to university was denied.

It can also mean an entrance, communication (between two areas) or path. Ex: He arrived late because the main access to the concert hall was blocked.

Good access should facilitate the movement of people and vehicles. Ex: My grandmother cannot visit me because my building is not accessible for people with wheelchairs.

Within the scope of Computing, an access means the possibility to view or modify a document/file, or to establish an internet connection. Ex: I didn't work at all in the morning because I didn't have internet access.
