With the sanitary measures imposed during the performance of the National High School Exam (Enem), candidates who presented symptoms and diagnosis of covid-19 will have a new deadline to request the reapplication of the exam.
The National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), autarchy of Ministry of Education (MEC), announced that candidates diagnosed after January 16 may access to Participant Page between January 25th and 29th to send the medical report.
The information was released this Sunday, 17, the date of the first application of the test. The second day will be next Sunday, 24th.
Reapplication Requests
Between January 11 and 16, more than 5,000 registered candidates asked for the test to be reapplied for presenting symptoms of respiratory diseases, informed the Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro. On Saturday 16, at 12:00 pm (Brasilia time), the system was closed for the evaluation of requests so that students would have a response before applying the test, according to Inep.
Despite having more than 5.5 million subscribers, Ribeiro argues that he does not believe that the application of the test will affect the number of patients' cases. "I do not believe. The gates opened half an hour early to avoid crowding. All precautions were fulfilled. We couldn't put it off any longer. The poorest and most humble would be the most harmed”, stressed the minister.

- Date of service;
- The document must be attached in PDF, PNG or JPG format, with a maximum size of 2 MB.
Legal disputes
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the application of Enem has been the target of legal disputes. The test was scheduled for November 2020, but was postponed to January 2021. However, a survey with participants revealed that the most voted option was to apply in May 2021.
According to the government, the exam in May would delay the schedule of other programs for admission to higher education. The Federal Public Defender's Office and student entities had requested the postponement of the application, alleging the risk to the health of participants and population, since the tests are in person and demand displacement. Despite this, the request was denied.
