THE Monroe Doctrine was a set of rules announced in 1823 by the then president of the U.S (USA), James Monroe.

The objective was to prevent European countries from intervening in any internal issue of American nations.

The Monroe Doctrine was delivered through a speech that evidenced the following principle: america for americans.

Such speech placed the US in a position of leader of the other countries of the America and defined the actions of the North American country in the face of former colonial metropolises.

Review it with the class by asking the following questions:
