THE Monroe Doctrine was a set of rules announced in 1823 by the then president of the U.S (USA), James Monroe.
The objective was to prevent European countries from intervening in any internal issue of American nations.

DURATION: 1 lesson of 50 minutes
GOALS:
- Understand what the Monroe Doctrine was;
- Understand the reasons that made Americans create the Monroe Doctrine;
- Understand the role of the United States in combating the recolonization of America;
- Understand the impacts of the Monroe Doctrine on the American continent and the rest of the world.

- To play the image: TV, computer, notebook, video projector;

- White sheet.
DEVELOPMENT:
Start the class by reproducing the following image:

Review it with the class by asking the following questions:
- What is the name of the object you are coloring?
