Abraham Weintraub, education Minister, used his official account on a social network to deliver another controversial speech. The statement occurred when exposing the new teaching material made by the secretary of Literacy, Carlos Nadalim.
“Paulo Freire and gay kit have no place in the MEC of Pres. @jairbolsonaro. See a sample of the format/content of the material that teacher @CarlosNadalim prepared for the children. Want to know more? Follow prof. @CarlosNadalim, the new face (and the first smile) of teaching in Brazil”, wrote Weintraub on Twitter.
gay kit and Paulo Freire
The debate around both themes heated up during the 2018 elections, when Bolsonaro and Haddad disputed.
Still under the PT government, in 2012, the educator and philosopher Paulo Freire was decorated by the National Congress as patron of Brazilian education.
Paulo Freire is the most awarded Brazilian with doctoral degrees honoris cause around the world, in addition to being on the list of authors with the highest number of citations in academic works, also worldwide.

already the "gay kit" had total negative repercussions and was just a fake news. The material consisted of images of supposed informational material, but with illustrations of sexual acts concerning sexually transmitted diseases.
The content was even appointed as a component of the School without Homophobia project, prepared by the Ministry of Education (MEC), but which was vetoed by the federal government in 2011, being pejoratively titled as "kit gay”.
Remember that the information is false. The images are not inherent to the MEC material, nor were they distributed in schools.
