Bolsonaro says new student ID will not charge UNE fee


O president Jair Bolsonaro edited an interim measure that creates a digital wallet for students. According to him, it will no longer be necessary to pay the fee to entities such as the National Student Union (UNE), run by the PCdoB Youth.

“I will make life easier for students. You will no longer have to pay to the UNE, since the PCdoB is in charge there,” the president told reporters as he left the Alvorada Palace on the morning of Tuesday, 3.

The spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, Otávio Rêgo Barros, was unable to inform whether the power to charge for the issuance of the document will be fully withdrawn from the Brazilian Union of Students and the National Association of Graduate Students (ANPG).

Bolsonaro assured that this provisional measure will be signed next Friday (6th). In addition, the president confirmed his presence and for that, canceled the trip to Letícia (Colombia).

On the trip to Colombia, there would be a meeting to discuss issues related to Amazon. But, according to Jair Bolsonaro, this meeting can be held through videoconferences.
