The relationship between speech therapy and children's reading

Speech therapy is a science focused on research, prevention, assessment and therapy, focused on the area of ​​oral and written communication, voice and hearing, has as one of the main purposes to help individuals who have some difficulty in relation to reading and writing, fundamental acquisitions for the development of kid.
Based on this assumption, there is then a great need to encourage children to practice reading from an early age, considering that early stimulation becomes an important and significant mechanism that facilitates learning and integration of the environment in which we live.
Speech therapy, when applied as a preventive or rehabilitation action, needs to use reading as a resource, especially with children, with purpose of developing skills that are associated with language, as this area is of fundamental importance for the psychosocial development of kid.
According to studies carried out, the teacher who uses shared reading with preschool children now promotes the learning of the little ones. Such benefit is due to the development of vocabulary that consequently enriches comprehension. of concepts, resulting in the child's ability to know the written language of the books.


Here, then, is the importance of guiding teachers and parents, especially of patients, to explore the benefits of children's reading.
