The vocabulary of each speaker is made up of the words he knows, acquired throughout his life, there are also vocabularies common to certain professional categories, which are acquired as needed, such as the vocabulary of lawyers, vocabulary of physicians, vocabulary of biologists etc.
From our experiences, during conversations with friends and through the media, we expand our vocabulary, when we have a deeper knowledge of the language or based on our intuitive knowledge we are even able to create words - neologisms -. But the best way to enrich vocabulary is reading, which must be done very carefully, noting the unknown words, checking their spelling, meaning and placement in the sentence.
The opportunity to use the new vocabulary occurs at the time of textual production (writing), it is when we transmit the knowledge acquired about the meaning of such words.
