French Guiana is a territory located in South America that borders the state of Amapá, cut by the equator and presents high temperatures. Since March 19, 1946, the region has figured as a French overseas department. This means that it is a territory subordinated to France, therefore, it is part of the European Union, even though it is in South America. The main trade relations occur almost exclusively with France, exporting, above all, timber and fish. The main city, and also the capital of French Guiana, is Cayenne.
