omit means stop saying, write or do something in certain situations it was expected, or even necessary, to manifest itself. omit is put aside, to forget, defer, silence, not to mention or to forget.
Omitting a fact may or may not be a deliberate act. It's not the same as lying. Lying is giving false information, is saying what is not true, is deceiving or not fulfilling what was promised.
Omitting age from the professional curriculum is a practice advocated by some specialists, because they understand that there are prejudices in this matter in the labor market. This strategy can give the candidate an opportunity to go to the interview and then show that he or she is capable of the job, regardless of age. However, it is important to warn that the information entered in the resume must be true, because the candidate will be confronted with all of them.
In legal terms, omitting is not mentioning something when performing a civic duty, which in many cases can constitute a crime.
Law No. 4,729, of July 14, 1965, in its Article 1, provides that “It constitutes a crime of tax evasion”:
I - make a false statement or omit, in whole or in part, information that must be produced to agents of legal entities internal public, with the intention of refraining, in whole or in part, from paying taxes, fees and any additional due by law;
