The feet are the ends of the lower limbs made up of irregular, articulating bones. They are considered the means of locomotion for most people, in addition to sustaining, evenly distributing the weight of the body, and maintaining balance. But for other people they are used to type on a computer or even paint a canvas.
However, for the sake of the beauty or the low cost of certain shoes, the feet are often in uncomfortable situations, such as shoes. closed for a long period of the day, with high heels, tapered toe or with very hard soles, which harms and bothers the base that sustains.
Such discomfort generates a series of problems such as foot odor, corns, ingrown nails, blisters, among others.
Calluses, or also known as hyperkeratosis, come from an excess production of cells, forming a layer that thickens to protect the skin from internal or external aggression. Its origin is related to some crooked and frequent footsteps, some tight shoes that increase the pressure on the soles of the feet or due to the weight of the body. The treatment for corns involves the use of comfortable shoes to reduce pressure and reduce pain, such as sneakers and use of urea-based moisturizers. There are also surgeries used to remove the prominences and realign the bones. The removal of these calluses is not recommended due to the danger of wounds and accumulation of microorganisms in the area.
For those people who have fatter fingers or the nail has a curve a little more than normal, the chance of having ingrown nails is much greater, which causes pain, redness and swelling. In addition, a pyogenic granuloma, or spongy flesh, which may bleed with exertion, may appear. A blow to the nail or the use of shoes that force the abnormal closing of the foot can also cause these discomforts. Keeping your nails straight and not too short can prevent these pains.
Mycoses can arise by hitting the nail, which weakened it, facilitating the entry of fungi and bacteria. Therefore, drying your feet well after bathing, not walking barefoot in public places and where there are animals, such as dogs and cats, are useful tips to avoid any ringworm in the foot.
Repeated friction that the feet are not used to causes blisters that seem to burn the area where it has been installed. It can be caused by new shoes, not yet adapted to the shape of our feet, or by some sport that forces the region. It is recommended not to pierce them, as it is a protection formed by the organism that prevents the entry of fungi and bacteria.
A widely used technique is reflexology that relaxes the feet, as it uses massage and is based on the relief of all the parts of the body through the feet, at specific points for each disease, working the blood circulation and lymphatic. Visiting a podiatrist can be of great help in relieving tension. Do not wear the same pair of shoes daily, keep them in an airy place, and soak your feet in a basin with warm water and black tea to reduce the amount of sweating and, as a consequence, the bad smell are tips important.
People with circulation problems and diabetes should be even more aware, as injuries can occur with it is easier and in diabetics it may still not be noticed due to the decrease in sensitivity caused by disease.
