Federal Government launches second stage of Pronatec

In a ceremony held this Wednesday morning, June 18, President Dilma Rousseff launched the second stage of the Program National Access to Technical Education and Employment (Pronatec), which offers technical and vocational courses for young people and adults. Pronatec 2.0 will offer 12 million places in 220 high school technical courses and 646 professional courses.

The first stage of the program registered more than 7.4 million students enrolled. The goal is to reach 8 million by the end of 2014, when the first stage will be completed. The profile of the beneficiaries shows that 73% are black and 69% are young.

The main novelty of Pronatec 2.0 is the possibility of taking advantage of the professional training course as credits in technological courses, which are considered to be higher education. The intention is to encourage Pronatec students to continue their studies and obtain a higher-level diploma.

Do not stop now... There's more after the advertising ;)

Another novelty is the inclusion of private institutions as course providers. Until the first stage, the courses were offered only by federal, state and municipal public institutions and institutions of the S System (Senai, Sesc, Senac, Sesi and Senat). An increase in the number of vacancies at participating institutions was also announced.

gratuity

Pronatec courses are still free at public and Sistema S institutions, but at private institutions they can be paid for. Therefore, the Federal Government will regulate the Technical FIES, which will grant loans to people with complete high school and financing for entrepreneurs who want to invest in training their employees.

Pronatec 2.0 starts in 2015 and will have a budget of R$14 billion. For more information about the program, visit our Pronatec page.
