Every day we see on TV products that promise the fast slimming and without suffering. One of the products of the moment is the famous shake, which is used in place of one or more meals. It is sold in powder form and must be mixed with skim milk for consumption.
When replacing meals, the person who uses the shakes really loses weight, however, not in a healthy way, as this usually happens due to the loss of water and muscles. After some time of consumption, the person may present nutrient deficiency, such as vitamins and mineral salts, and develop serious health problems.
These products have around 200 kcal, which does not provide the necessary energy for the body, since the value is not equivalent to that of a meal, and a person needs an average of 2,000 kcal per day. The shakes also have a low amount of nutrients and fiber, so they are not ideal for the proper functioning of the body and can cause serious health problems for those who consume them regularly.
Furthermore, The diet tends to failure
, since most people end up "getting sick" of the taste of the shake and abandoning this program. Ideally, those who use the product should use it as a snack and not as a substitute for important meals. It is also important to emphasize that the best is the use of homemade shakes, since industrialized ones can contain dyes, which are not good for the health of the body.Do not stop now... There's more after the advertising ;)
Remember that there is no magic recipe for weight loss. A healthy diet must contain all nutrients, including lipids. To lose weight with health, opt for a nutritional re-education guided by a nutritionist and always try to exercise. In addition to keeping the good shape, you will avoid various diseases.
A case appeared in the media of a 20-year-old woman who lost movement in her legs after replacing lunch and dinner with shakes and teas, in addition to taking appetite suppressant medications. This replacement caused the woman to have a disease called beriberi, which occurs due to the lack of vitamin B1 in the body. It is noticed that the shake does not have the necessary amount of vitamins and other nutrients for healthy diet and should not be used as a substitute for important meals.
