Amazon rivers: main transport routes

The rivers of the North region are an integral part of the life of the inhabitants of this region of Brazil. The characteristic of Amazonian rivers is favorable for navigation, as many are long and voluminous and their waters flow slowly. This condition makes the rivers an important means of transport for the region's inhabitants.
In rivers like the Negro, a large flow of boats is common. The boats transit full of foodstuffs, appliances, tractor and car parts, construction material, medicines and many other things. In addition to goods, there is a large flow of people daily.
The existing ports in the region simultaneously ship goods of all kinds and people. Passengers travel accommodated in hammocks, which make the deck of the boats fully colored.
Waterway transport is practically the only transport alternative, considering that the highways are quite restricted and those that exist do not allow traffic, such as the trans-Amazonian
