In recent years, the idea of reducing the work week from five to four days has spread throughout the world, in an effort to make workers' hours easier.

However, a British startup called Tomoro recently announced the ambitious project of launching an even shorter workload model, which fits into just three days.

To achieve this goal, the company intends to use an Artificial Intelligence personal assistant with capabilities so comprehensive that it can literally work for people.

According to Ed Broussard, founder of Tomoro, this language model would be responsible for performing repetitive tasks, generating simple automation.

In any case, human presence would continue to be indispensable, according to Broussard.

“Tomoro will integrate synthetic employees into companies, along with real people who have the ability to reason, grow, increase your knowledge, adapt your tone, and resolve problems. This represents a huge change from what is currently available on the market,” he said.

Tomoro's plans

Originally founded in Scotland and now based in London, Tomoro entered into a partnership with OpenAI, creator of ChatGPT.

In an interview, Ed Broussard stated that the objective behind his company's plans is not to replace humans with machines, but rather to enhance people's workforce.

“We need to stop thinking of AI as a job replacement. Its value extends far beyond that”, he pointed out.

It seems that Tomoro's proposal is already pleasing. This is because the British insurance company PremFina has already signed a contract, becoming the AI company's first client.

If everything goes as planned, Tomoro's automation system will increase companies' efficiency rates by up to eight times.

A historic revolution

Ed Broussard compared the prospect of having human workload shared with AI robots to the emergence of agriculture.

“AI is as big a social change as the invention of agriculture. Imagine telling a hunter-gatherer that in the future there would be an abundance of food and no effort would be needed to eat. This is what AI will do for productivity in the workplace”, pointed out the expert.
