History Activities for 4th grade (Elementary School)

We have created 5 History activities aimed at the 4th year of Elementary School - Early Years.

The activities were prepared based on BNCC guidelines, following the guidelines of their respective Thematic Units, Objects of Knowledge and Skills.

Activity 01: Transformations over time

Thematic Unit: Transformations and permanence in the trajectories of human groups.

Objects knowledge:The action of people, social groups and communities in time and space: nomadism, agriculture, writing, navigation, industry, among others.

Skills: (EF04HI01) Recognize history as a result of human action in time and space, based on the identification of changes and permanence over time.

Proposal: Develop an activity where students need to research, cut and paste images that represent the way human beings did things in the past and do them today.

Activity 02: The transformations in my city

Thematic Unit: Transformations and permanence in the trajectories of human groups.

Objects knowledge:The past and the present: the notion of permanence and slow social and cultural transformations.

Skills: (EF04HI03) Identify the transformations that have occurred in the city over time and discuss their interference in the lifestyles of its inhabitants, taking the present as a starting point.

Proposal: In the proposed activity, students will be encouraged to research more about the changes that have occurred in the city where they live and draw comparisons with the current landscape they know.

Activity 03: The human being and the modification of geographic space

Thematic Unit: Circulation of people, products and cultures.

Objects knowledge:The movement of people and transformations in the natural environment.

Skills: (EF04HI05) Relate field occupation processes to interventions in nature, evaluating the results of these interventions.

Proposal: In this activity, students must identify the landscape before and after human action.

Expected responses

Activity 04: You reporter - the media

Thematic Unit: Circulation of people, products and cultures.

Objects knowledge:The world of technology: the integration of people and social and cultural exclusions.

Skills: (EF04HI08) Identify the transformations that have occurred in the media (oral culture, press, radio, television, cinema, internet and other digital information and communication technologies) and discuss their meanings for different groups or strata social.

Proposal: Ask students to conduct an interview with someone older (such as a grandparent, aunt, or family friend). family) so that he can draw parallels regarding the evolution of the media in recent decades.

Activity 05: Getting to know Afro-Brazilian Culture

Thematic Unit: Historical issues relating to migration.

Objects knowledge:The migratory processes for the formation of Brazil: indigenous groups, the Portuguese presence and the forced diaspora of Africans; The migratory processes of the late 19th century and early 20th century in Brazil; The internal dynamics of migration in Brazil from the 1960s onwards.

Skills: (EF04HI10) Analyze different population flows and their contributions to the formation of Brazilian society.

Proposal: Develop with students a reading and textual interpretation activity related to Afro-Brazilian Culture.

1- It emerged in the colonial period.

2- Samba and Maracatu.

3- We can mention practices such as jumping 7 waves on New Year's Eve and using the color white on that same date; capoeira; religious practices; several words, among others.
