He noted that the label stated the measurement was 300 meters, but the toilet paper sold only yielded 180 meters. In the item with supposed 500 meters, only 280 meters were sold.
According to the president of the commission, there are serious questions about the honesty in the marketing of these products.
In addition to negatively affecting consumers, the alleged criminal scheme also has harmful repercussions on the public health sector in Espírito Santo.
The company in question won a tender from the State Department of Health, thus becoming a supplier of toilet paper for this important department.
However, according to the allegations, the supplier also sold toilet paper in quantities below the contracted specifications.
Deputy Vandinho Leite emphasized the seriousness of the situation, highlighting that this irresponsibility not only affects customers, but also users of the healthcare system and, by extension, coffers public.
