Throughout the history of humanity, migrations played a crucial role. For countless generations, our species has undertaken journeys in search of essential resources, such as water and food, in the search for a better life.
Every story has a starting point, a place of origin for all of us, and it is through this starting point that science tries to find humanity's true home.

According to research recently published in the journal Science, researchers at the Big Data Institute from the University of Oxford, in the United Kingdom, claim to have identified this ancient site with precision remarkable.
Surprisingly, it is situated in a desert in the northeast of Sudan, close to the fundamental Nile River, which played a crucial role in the trajectory of humanity.
According to Dr. Anthony Wilder Wohns, the study's lead author, are involved in the reconstruction of our ancestors' genomes and employing this information to establish a broad web of connections.
These connections allow us to estimate the historical periods and geographic locations in which these ancient predecessors lived.
Discovering our ancestral home
Through the use of information from eight different genome-related databases human, researchers managed to build an extensive network made up of almost 27 million predecessors.
It is worth noting that these samples were not limited only to individuals from the modern era, but also included representatives of ancestral communities that inhabited different regions of the world in times dating back thousands to hundreds of thousands of years back.
The process used algorithms for data mining, with the aim of identifying patterns of genetic variation, thus allowing the creation of an immense family tree.

As a result of this research, a visual representation of human movement and migrations throughout history was developed.
Despite the advances achieved, researchers intend to continue expanding and improving this human genealogical map, incorporating even more genome samples.
The underlying purpose is to lay a solid foundation for the next generation of DNA sequencing.
