5 iPhone 15 features that were 'stolen' from Android smartphones

On September 12th, the Apple unveiled its latest smartphone, the iPhone 15, loaded with innovations. However, some of the new aspects are not exactly “new” for those who already use the Android system.

In addition, the device now has a processor that supports ray tracing technology. This technology had already been introduced with the Exynos 2200 chip, a fundamental part of the Samsung Galaxy S22 line.

But the news didn't stop there. Follow below for more details about the surprises that Apple has in store for its latest release!

1. USB-C input

Apple surprised the market by launching the iPhone 15 with the USB-C input, a standard already adopted by Android devices for several years.

The new direction, which replaces the traditional Lightning connector, responds to European Union regulations and provides advantages such as greater resistance and increased charging speed.

2. Side action button

In a nod to offering even more functions, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models now have a side action button for personalized shortcuts.

Although it is an Apple innovation, those who follow the smartphone market may remember Samsung, which, in 2019, already presented a similar idea with the “Bixby Button” on the Galaxy S8, used for a variety of tasks.

3. A17 Bionic processor with ray tracing support

And on the graphics front, Apple's premium iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models introduce the powerful A17 Bionic processor with ray tracing support, a technology that increases the visual quality of games and applications.

Despite being a great addition for Apple, it is important to highlight that Android chips, such as the Exynos 2200, have already used this technology for some time.

4. Titanium frame

The giant opted for a titanium frame for its most sophisticated models, a material recognized for being lighter and more durable than stainless steel.

Already popularized in 2017 by the Essential PH-1, titanium frames were not so common in Brazil.

Apple's choice may indicate a change in the smartphone landscape, as rumors suggest that Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra will also adopt such material.

5. Telephoto lens

When it comes to photography, the iPhone 15 Pro Max launches with a telephoto lens that offers 5x zoom.

Meanwhile, competing models like the Galaxy S23 Ultra have already delighted users in social media with a zoom that reaches up to 10x. Still, expectations are high for what Apple can offer in this field.
