Spring in 2023
Spring 2023 may have climate episodes, such as the South Atlantic Convergence Zone (ZCAS), which could affect the climate in several parts of the country, according to Climatempo.
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), linked to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, also comments that, during spring and part of summer, the intensity of the El Niño phenomenon should vary from moderate to strong.
Therefore, for Inmet, the uncertainty in El Niiño models makes continuous monitoring of the phenomenon and possible impacts in different regions of Brazil crucial.
See below forecasts for some regions of Brazil during Spring 2023:
-North and Northeast: more severe drought and increase in fire outbreaks
-Central-West and Southeast: increase in average temperatures and irregular rainfall
-Southern Brazil: rainfall is above average, which can lead to flooding and landslides.
