The decision was made not to interfere in the antelope's life. According to Pieter, everyone at the scene was devastated by this.
“We wanted to help, but we knew we couldn’t interfere with nature. So, after a discussion, we made the difficult choice to leave the guelengue behind and continue our journey”, reported the photographer to the Latest Sightings portal.
The unique encounter served as a reminder that, sometimes, it is necessary to allow nature to take its course without human interference. Every moment in that place is a valuable lesson about wildlife and its undeniable power.
Pieter himself stated that the rarity of this event deeply impressed him, being something completely out of the ordinary and difficult to see.

It is worth noting that Guelengues are often the target of hunters due to its impressive horns, which can measure almost a meter in length.
These parts play a crucial role in defense against predators, making the fact that one of them turned against the animal itself even more remarkable.
Therefore, despite the possibility of interference, as in the case involving the antelope, in certain situations, the best thing to do is to let life follow its natural course.
