Yeshua is a term of Hebrew root which means "to save” or "salvation". It is considered by some scholars as the original name of Jesus Christ written in Hebrew. However, it is a topic under discussion, since the language spoken in the land where Jesus dwelt was Aramaic.

In fact, Yeshua is an abbreviated form of Yehoshua, a Hebrew name that was translated into Portuguese as Joshua. "Yeoshua" means "the Eternal saves". Yeshua Hamashia is an Aramaic expression meaning "Jesus Christ the Messiah".
There are several songs written by various artists and bands that are dedicated to Jesus and contain the word Yeshua.
