In Londrina (PR), a 4-year-old girl showed courage and skill by literally saving her grandmother's life thanks to a new function in the messaging app Whatsapp.
Maria Luiza, the little heroine, acted quickly when she realized that her grandmother, Ednalva Viana, 57, was feeling sick while serving lunch to her and her younger sisters.

The incident took place in the Campo Belo neighborhood, located in Londrina, where Maria Luiza lives with her grandmother and her sisters. The fact went viral on the internet in recent days.

Upon realizing her grandmother's discomfort, the little girl did not hesitate to pick up the phone and activate the recent whatsapp video to ask for help.
In a 34-second video sent to her grandfather, Maria Luiza explained the situation and requested immediate help for her grandmother. See the transcript of what was said in the video:
“Grandpa, can you give us some food? Because grandma is sick, she's not feeling well, she's lying here on the mattress with us. (…) come here to bathe us, so we can go to school”, said the brave child.
The grandmother, who normally takes care of her three granddaughters while her daughters are at work, shared details of what happened at the critical moment.
“The girls were sitting on the mattress and I asked them to make room for me to lie down with them and that's what happened. I fainted."
Upon receiving the harrowing video, the grandfather quickly ran to the house and called the SAMU (Mobile Emergency Service). Ednalva was taken to Santa Casa de Londrina, where she was diagnosed with a heart attack.
Fortunately, thanks to little Maria Luiza's quick action and the prompt response of the medical services, the grandmother is stable and has returned to her role of caring for her granddaughters.
Maria Luiza's heroic gesture drew attention to the new WhatsApp function, which had been implemented just six days before the incident.
When tapping the microphone icon, users now have the option to record video messages. This provides a more effective way to communicate in emergency situations.
Taynara Santos Viana, mother of Maria Luiza and youngest daughter of Ednalva, expressed her gratitude and admiration for the little heroine. According to her, children must understand technology and the whole family is very happy and delighted.
