A particularly worrying aspect is that advertising persists even when the device's screen is turned off, further aggravating the negative impact of these harmful actions.
Despite their harmless appearance, such software actually camouflages an intricate library of ad fraud. They employ deceptive tactics in order to deceive the user.
Careful! Malicious Apps Will Destroy Your Battery
One of the strategies adopted by these rogue software is to wait for weeks after installation to start its harmful ad-related activities.
Such an approach aims to avoid early detection by Google Play Store reviewers, which allows for more stealthy and prolonged infiltration into the ecosystem of users' devices.

McAfee's group of mobile security experts identified a total of 43 apps hosted on the Google Play Store that harbored the aforementioned adware, as reported.
The discovery resulted in an official statement being sent to the Google team. The report indicated that such malicious apps took a stealthy approach, posing as legitimate software such as TV/DMB Player, Music Downloader, News and Calendar.
Surprisingly, these deceptive applications have managed to amass over 2.5 million downloads, making them a significant threat to a large number of users.
According to information reported by the Bleeping Computer, the malicious programs in question have already been removed from the official Android store and there is no news of the official names of each application.
However, it is important to note that if these apps have been installed, there is a possibility that they will remain on the device even after removal from the store.
If you notice unusual battery consumption on your mobile device, don't hesitate to do a thorough data cleaning or even reset the device to factory settings. Such measures can identify and eliminate possible battery-thieving adware installed on your cell phone!
