The journalist Glória Maria died this morning (2). The journalist was admitted to a hospital in Rio de Janeiro to treat brain cancer.
Glória Maria had been fighting cancer since 2019. According to a note from Globo, at the time the presenter was diagnosed with lung cancer, which was treated successfully.
She has metastasized to her brain, with surgery initially successful. However, last year she underwent a new phase of treatment to combat new brain metastases.
However, the treatment stopped working in the last few days.
Glória Maria is survived by two teenage daughters.

Pioneer
Glória Maria is one of the main names in the Journalism of the history of Brazilian television. A pioneer, Glória was the first reporter to appear live and in color on Jornal Nacional, in 1971. In addition, she was the first black reporter on Brazilian television.
