Buffett has always championed the benefits of owning a home and named his home the third best investment he has ever made in a letter to shareholders in 2010. The 6,000-square-foot home is located on a corner property in Omaha near Berkshire Hathaway's corporate headquarters and is now valued at around $1.2 million.
The billionaire has no plans to trade his modest home (compared to his fortune) for a luxurious home any time soon. “I would move if I thought I would be happier somewhere else,” Buffett said in a 2009 interview with the BBC. “This house works great, I'm warm in the winter, I'm cool in the summer, it's convenient for me,” he said in the same interview. “I couldn't imagine having a better home.”
