Colleagues strangle 11-year-old boy to death to steal R$16 allowance

An 11-year-old Egyptian boy was strangled by classmates who wanted to take about 100 EGP (equivalent to R$ 16) that he was carrying in his pocket.

The crime took place in the village of Al-Buraijat, in the province of Beheira, located in northern Egypt. The suspects of killing Mustafa Izat there are two other children who have already been identified and apprehended by the police.

Still according to preliminary information, Mustafa would have been lured to an abandoned house after class, where he was asphyxiated and killed.

The boy's body was found hours later by farmers passing by, according to police Major General Ahmed Khalaf, in charge of the investigation.

Mustafa's cause of death was confirmed in the autopsy of his body, where neck injuries were found, responsible for cutting off the young man's oxygen supply and leading to his death.

The money the boy had in his pocket was a gift, probably from his parents, for Mustafa to participate in Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim celebration that marks the end of Ramadan.
