The Ministry of Education (MEC) has just released a booklet entitled “Safe School: how to deal with online violence content and talk to children and young people about the topic“.
It can be accessed via download on the MEC Portal, the purpose of the publication is to assist in the propagation of a safer and healthier school space, providing directions that are easy to understand and also practical.

This action was motivated by the Interministerial Working Group for the Prevention and Confrontation of Violence in Schools, directed by the MEC. Therefore, the booklet offers clarification for three different audiences: parents, as well as educators and also students.
In the chapter intended for parents, the booklet provides guidance on how to deal with content that may indicate threats in school environments, in addition to assisting in the identification of true and false information, and in the denouncement of misinformation. There are also tips for talking with children about digital content that may encourage violent behavior.
For educators, the booklet provides guidance on how to deal with situations of violence in schools, in addition to suggestions for promoting a safer and healthier school environment. For students, there is information on how to act in situations of violence and how to seek help.

This is one more, among many other strategies, developed by the Ministry of Education (MEC) to promote more safety in the school environment. Therefore, the publications have a series of guidelines and recommendations so that schools can prevent situations of violence, in addition to other problems that may affect the physical and psychological integrity of students.
The Booklet available also includes other suggestions for activities and projects that can be developed within the school.
