Directed by Paul Wietz and written by Adam Herz, American Pie is a comedy classic from the 2000s that talks a lot about sexual themes. Making a considerable return at the box office, the film left a resounding impact on popular culture.

The film focuses on a small group of five friends with diverse interests and personalities: Jim, Oz, Kevin, Paul and Steve. When a nerdy colleague of theirs claims to have lost his virginity at a party hosted by Steve, the only non-virgin of the friend group, this makes them swear that they will lose their virginity by high school graduation.

The events that follow are as noisy and embarrassing as you remember your teenage years to be. For those wanting a definitive guide to what happened to the characters in American Pie and where they are now, check out the following.

Weird, nerdy, and sexually naive, Jim is the character who plays the pie scene that pretty much named the film. He continued acting in the franchise and outside of it as well. In addition, the actor even did work outside the cinematographic medium.

Oz is one of the main characters in American Pie who is on a quest to stop being a virgin. He continued to be a strong presence in the world of film and television, with notable roles in series and films of different genres.

Kevin Myers (Thomas Ian Nicholas)

Kevin's main conflict in the film (besides trying to lose his virginity) is trying to mend his relationship with his girlfriend Vicky, who is worried that he is only with her for sex. After working on the franchise, Nicholas would continue to work in film and television, with a heavy emphasis on film after the 2000s. He has acted in and helped develop several films over the years. He is currently dedicated to the world of music with six albums released.

Finch, as he is often called, is the big player in the core group of friends. He butts heads with Steve Stifler throughout the film before, incidentally, getting what may be the most unexpected yet profound form of revenge against him.

He has done several films, some theater work, voice acting and commercials as well. He stood out for voicing Barry Robinson in American Dad!.

Steve Stifler (Seann William Scott)

Stifler was the only non-virgin in the group of friends. Although he is good friends with the four, he also had a conflicted relationship with Paul Finch. The actor continues to feature in a variety of action, sports and comedy films, and is set to star in the upcoming series Welcome to Flatch.

Noah Levenstein (Eugene Levy)

Better known as "Jim's Dad," Eugene Levy's character serves as something of a guiding force for Jim throughout the film. The actor follows his career in cinema and TV series, including the dubbing of characters for Disney cartoons.

Jeanine StiflerJennifer Coolidge

Also known as "Stifler's Mom", Jeanine is a relatively minor character in American Pie. The actress burst into the acting world after her role as Jeanine. She played Paulette Bonafonté Percelle in the films 'Legally Blonde' and Fiona in A Cinderella Story. Over the years, she's played characters like Sophie Kaczyński in 2 Broke Girls and Cassie Mulligan.
