Caixa publishes guidelines for renewing Novo Fies contracts

Caixa Econômica Federal announced, this Thursday, 16th, how the renewal and maintenance of the Student Financing Fund (Fies) will be carried out, in the modality New Fies. The publication was made in Official Diary of the Union.

According to Circular No. 895/2020, amendments must be made by the sifes system. If there are changes in the contract, such as a change of guarantor, it is necessary for the student to go to a Caixa branch with the supporting document and complete the renewal.

Simplified amendments, that is, those that do not have changes in the contract, have their renewal formalized based on validation in the system itself.

Who can make the addition?

To make the amendment, it is necessary that the student is up to date with the payments of the single ticket. If there are delays, the person must access Sifes to issue the slip or look for a Caixa agency and settle it.

Through Sifes, the student can also request suspension of the contract, transfer of course or educational institution, increase in the term of use and even early termination.

SisFies System

O SisFies system is intended for people who signed a contract with Fies until December 2017. The portal is monitored by the National Education Development Fund (FNDE).

Last Wednesday, the 15th, the autarchy disclosed that, due to the restrictions generated by the coronavirus pandemic, new coronavirus, the deadline for amendments has been extended to June 30.
