Must have low beam
Did you know that it's mandatory to walk with the low beam on highways during the day since 2016? But stay tuned, because now there are some particularities.
The update of the CTB (Brazilian Traffic Code) by Law 14.071/2020 allows the use of “low light” only in vehicles without DRL, the daytime driving light.
However, for other vehicles, this practice is only required on single lane highways located outside urban perimeters.
Failure to comply with this rule can result in an average infraction, with a fine of R$130.16 and four points on the CNH (National Driver's License).
Restrictions for insulin
According to the new law, insulfilm with bubbles cannot be used on the front windows – a serious infraction that results in a fine of R$195.23 and five points on the license.
Furthermore, the minimum luminous transmittance is now 70%, regardless of the color of the film used.
For rear side windows that do not interfere with vehicle handling, the permitted index is at least 28%.
Classifications on the CNH
CNH underwent changes in June last year. One of them was the implementation of the new table with driver categories.
Although there are still five (A, B, C, D and E), they now have codes that identify them internationally (such as A1, B1, C1 and BE).
This update is a measure that aims to facilitate the inspection of CNH by foreign transit agents.
red traffic light
Now, in many municipalities you can make right turns even at red lights.
And it's simple: just check if there is a “Free on the right” sign in the place indicating that you can perform this movement.
However, it is important to emphasize that this practice is not yet regulated by Contran. Therefore, one should wait for the creation of specific signs to standardize the criteria throughout the country.
