Sharks are the top predators in their habitat. They perform this function in a unique way. In order to be able to act in this powerful role, this group exhibits unique characteristics that were created just for its food process. One of the most placed fear in people are their teeth, a real lethal weapon. When they die, these teeth go to a place: a cemetery hidden at the bottom of the sea.

Largest Graveyard of Tooth Found at the Bottom of the Indian Ocean
A set of teeth was found by scientists at the bottom of the ocean. The team studied and found that they found two species of shark: the megalodon and a previously unknown variety.
The teeth were found in the sea near the island of Cocos, at a depth of 5,400 meters. Among the numerous species, the largest tooth found is thought to have belonged to a megalodon, an extinct class that was once considered the largest marine predator of all time.
The "cemetery" opens a gap for a great story and several theories. This space may be an indication that sharks migrated to find a better place to hunt and, in the middle of the journey, they lost their teeth.
Megalodon: huge predators
This is a species of shark that went extinct about two million years ago. They weighed, on average, 60 tons and measured approximately 18 meters in length. Their teeth could reach up to 15 cm in length. Furthermore, they were easily found in warm, shallow seas.
They were carnivores, so their preferred prey was whales and dolphins. The strength of its bite varied, but it was about ten times that of an ordinary shark. It even made it possible to find remnants of the bites in the victims' fossils.
Yours extinction affected many ecosystems, since they were the biggest predators in the environment.
