In 2000, the Central Bank issued a R$10.00 note with the figure of Pedro Álvares Cabral and illustrations referring to the arrival of the Portuguese in Brazil. In this case, this limited edition was a celebration of the 500th anniversary of the discovery of our country.
According to experts, until 2006 it was possible to find it on the market, until the BC removed it from circulation. So now there is another value of plastic 10 reais note which is a target for banknote collectors.

Value of the 10 reais note
- Bill can be worth up to 15 times more than the original
If you have any of those ten reais bills, commonly remembered by the semi-transparent red circle on the right side, know that today they are worth much more. On average, it is possible to find buyers willing to pay between R$ 130.00 and R$ 150.00 for each bill. That is, an income of up to 15 times its original value, which was ten reais.
In addition, it is worth mentioning that there is a tendency for this price to increase even more in the coming years, due to inflation and rarity. After all, the more time passes, the smaller the amount of these notes available, making them more scarce and, consequently, more valuable.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the extinction of these notes in the market is still relatively recent, only sixteen years. Other older coins, from twenty to thirty years old, are valued more in the market precisely because of their symbolic historical value and their rarity.
Value of other rare coins
But it's not just the plastic 10 reais banknote that has gained significant value in recent years, as other real coins are also valuable. For example, the R$1.00 coin commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of human rights in 1998 can be worth between R$100.00 and R$250.00. In this case, the amount paid can reach much more, as it is considered very rare, since only 600,000 pieces were made.
In addition, the model of the commemorative coin for the Delivery of the Olympic Flag, for the 2016 Olympics, is worth between R$ 60.00 and R$ 100.00. But it is worth mentioning that not all coins from 2016, just this one in particular, were of lesser circulation.
