Did Putin use a stunt double on a presidential visit? See what this advisor said

Criticism is leveled at Russian President Vladimir Putin for sending an alleged double to the city of Mariupol and adjacent regions in Ukraine. Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine's interior minister, said the discrepancy in the chins was evidence that the Russian president used a body double for the mission. It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that Putin's opponents have accused him of this practice.

Last weekend, Putin made an unexpected appearance in the city of Mariupol, which is currently under Russian control. His visit has been compared to one made by Hitler in the region during World War II.

During his stay, Putin was captured on Russian state TV driving through the affected city and meeting with local residents. State media reported that Putin, 70, had made a "work trip" to the war-torn port city.

However, Putin's presence was questioned by Gerashchenko, who posted three images of "Putin's chin" and questioned whether they belonged to the same man. The aide asked: “What's with your chin, Putin? I wonder if any of them are real”, according to the English tabloid The Sun.

With or without a stunt double, Putin could be sick

Rumors about Putin's health and reports of his paranoia fueled speculation that he might use stunt doubles or camera tricks. Ukrainian military intelligence claims that Putin is using three body doubles who have had plastic surgery to look like him. A former spy for the KGB, the Soviet-era secret service, also believes Putin has been using impersonators to stand in for him at events.

Last Tuesday, March 21, the Telegram channel General SVR, which claims to have state sources in Russia, claimed that Putin never visited Mariupol. The allegations raised by Gerashchenko and other opponents of Putin cast doubt on the veracity of the president's visit to the war-torn port city.
