By 4:52 pm this Thursday (23), more than one million candidates had already enrolled in the Unified Selection System (Sisu) for the first half of 2023. In other words, the system recorded 1,000,870 enrollments per CPF, and a total of 1,921,066 enrollments were made, as each enrollment can choose up to two courses. It is worth remembering that registration goes until 23:59 this Friday (24).
In the same period last year, Sisu ended the selection process with 1,054,474 applicants. Analyzing the Brazilian regions, the Northeast maintains the highest number of subscribers, totaling 401,752 candidates, representing 40.1% of the total number of applicants, when observing the origin of birth of the student. The Southeast had 338,566 subscribers, which corresponds to 33.8% of the total, followed by the South region (9.5%) with 95,146; North (8.7%) with 86,880; and Midwest (7.9%) with 78,526.

Data released by the Ministry of Education (MEC) also show that the list of applicants by federation unit (place of birth of the candidate) was also revealed. São Paulo leads the list, with 124,186 subscribers, followed by Minas Gerais (103,090), Rio de Janeiro (92,996) and Bahia (79,665).
Sisu is a MEC computerized system, used to select students for public universities across the country. For the first half of 2023, more than 226,000 vacancies are being offered at 128 participating public institutions, 63 of which are federal universities. It is important to highlight that the system offers vacancies in 6,402 undergraduate courses.
Those interested in enrolling must complete the procedure through the sisu official page. To participate in the selection process, it is necessary to have taken the 2022 edition of the National High School Examination (Enem) and obtained a score above zero in the writing test.
The result of the process will be released on February 28th and the candidates who are not selected in the first call will be able to express interest in the waiting list, in the period from February 28th to September 8th. March.
