Fundamentally, the new Driver's License changed mainly three points, namely: the look, security items It is new subcategories. In terms of visual changes, the document will no longer be predominantly green to incorporate the colors of the Brazilian flag (green and yellow).
In addition to color, another change is the position of the driver's signature, which will be displayed just below the photo, unlike how it works now. The new document will include a frame with silhouettes of various types of vehicles, which will be accompanied by a category code that each driver will be authorized to operate.
Documentation will be even more secure
In terms of security, the new model of Driver's License will follow a European standard in which it will present greater security for the CNH. We'll have a distinctive glow-in-the-dark fluorescent hue among the security devices, as well as other items that can only be seen with ultraviolet light.
The QR Code, available since 2017, will continue to be printed, with the aim of allowing document validation both online and offline. A hologram will also be present in the bottom half of the document.
New subcategories
Existing categories (A, B, C and D) will remain as they are, but the digit 1 will now be placed in front of the letter to identify which vehicles drivers can drive. However, it is not yet clear how the new qualification subcategories will be defined, which will replace the current ones A, B, C and D.
