  • instagram story viewer
  • Local environmental police battalion;
  • Wild Fauna Management Center, which is divided into the Wild Animal Screening Center (CETAS) and the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Center (CRAS).

The place where the animal was found is also important. This is because it may belong to IBAMA or be managed by the municipal, state or NGO.

Then, the fate of the animal is defined, which is usually the return to nature in more than 50% of cases, according to a report by IBAMA.

Is it dangerous to release into the wild?

As much as we would like to return the animal to its habitat, delivering it to nature may not be the ideal attitude. This is because, in cases of animals kept in captivity, rehabilitation is complex and requires a reintroduction process and constant medical evaluations.

In addition, it can cause the death of the animal and the danger of invasive species in the environment where it was released. Therefore, the animals must be handed over to the bodies responsible for their care.
