Understand more about migration of Brazilians towards Portugal

A recent study that used foreign traffic on the site as a premise Imovirtual revealed that most people looking for a place to live in Portugal are Brazilians. In fact, according to data analysis, Brazil accounted for almost 19.5% of all foreigners looking for property in the European country.

In addition, another significant finding of the study is the age of the users who carry out these studies in Brazil. According to the data, the average age of people looking for property in Portugal ranged between 25 and 34 years old, with a preference for apartments over houses. This factor obviously indicates that these people may be young professionals looking for new job opportunities.

Regarding the choice of city to live, there also seems to be a preference for destination among 3 cities in the country, namely: Lisbon, Porto and Braga. According to the study, the percentage of interest varied between 21% in the interest rate for each city. This undoubtedly reinforces the concept of “brain drain”, as these cities are recognized as excellent places for young people to start their careers in the labor market.

A study conducted in 2021 found that demand for lease agreements in these cities increased by 49.1%. Furthermore, some estimates place the number of Brazilians in Lisbon at around 190,000 people. Incidentally, this city is the most expensive region to rent an apartment, with rents costing more than €1308, according to estimates for January 2022.
