Increased deadline for active CNH processes

The National Traffic Council extended the deadline for completing active processes to obtain the national driver's license in transit bodies and entities to December 2023. This change occurred with the objective of ending the long queues and trying to resolve the processes not completed so far – delays in scheduling tests – resulting from the coronavirus pandemic Covid-19.

This measure aims to meet all processes that are open until December of this year. Therefore, the processes that are opened from January 2023 will be under the normal deadline for completion.
The extension of the deadline for the active processes of the National Driver's License was the way found to conclude the active processes of driver's license.

Requests from several states facilitated the extension of the deadline

The state of Amazonas has been building mutirons since 2020 to try to end queues and resolve processes related to CNH withdrawal. Due to this movement by the department of Amazonas and other states that also adopted measures to try to solve their pending issues, the National Traffic Council decided to extend the deadline for active processes in order to prevent students from being harmed by all this delay.
