The office used data from the US Department of Labor to show a different profile: American companies have increasingly sought Brazilian professionals who are qualified by training academic.
According to the report, Brazil ranked 6th among countries with the most employed citizens, second only to the Philippines, South Korea, Mexico, China and India. In addition, according to the American report, the companies that hired the most Brazilians in 2021 are: Microsoft, Abbyland Foods, Orion Travel Technologies, Google and SS Concrete Floors.
In the period in question, of all the companies mentioned, there were about 1,428 admissions. Of these hires, 142 vacancies were filled by Brazilians. The statistic may seem small, but it is necessary to consider that of these 10% of Brazilian employees hired, companies also had to try to hire an equivalent professional within the country. When employing foreign professionals, companies must fill out a justification and information form for the US government.
“With the advancement of higher education in Brazil and access to information, more and more Brazilian graduates and postgraduates are seeking careers in the US,” noted Rodrigo Costa, CEO of AG Immigration.
The revealed data point to a significant change in the profile of the Brazilian immigrant. Of course, most immigrants who are looking to enter the labor market end up in the most basic sectors that do not require training, even because they are easier and more common. According to the report, the highest salary paid to a Brazilian in 2021 was R$ 152,000 per month. It was the case of a software developer hired by Netflix who had graduated from PUC-Rio.
