Another weekend and another dominating Spider-Man: No Homecoming performance in theaters. In its fourth weekend of release, the film grossed another $33 million at multiplexes in the United States.
Not only was this good enough to top the box office charts a month after its release. This is the sixth highest-grossing film in the history of cinema in the country – and puts it ahead of the eternal box office champion Titanic and its domestic revenue of US$ 659 million.

Now, it's important to note that if you adjust Titanic's earnings for inflation, you get the equivalent of about $1.14 billion. Then again, Titanic didn't come out in the middle of a pandemic, which makes Spider-Man's success all the more impressive.
Here are the top five movies of the weekend in theaters according to Box Office Mojo:
- Spider-Man: Never Go Home – $33.0 million
- Sing 2 – $11.9 million
- The 355 – $4.8 million
- The King's Man – $3.2 million
- American Underdog – $2.4 million
Within a week or two, Spider-Man should pass Avengers: Infinity War ($678.8 million) on the top-grossing domestic list of all time. After that, #4 is Black Panther with $700.4 million.
It's possible Spider-Man will get there, but anything beyond that seems out of reach. Third on the list is Avatar with $760 million so James Cameron can probably rest easy about that.
Furthermore, Avatar and Titanic are still far ahead of Spider-Man on the all-time worldwide box office list.
