Payment of child care and professional qualification
The first measure provides for the release of resources from the fund to help women pay for day care for their children, stepchildren or children under 5 years of age in judicial custody.
The cost of professional qualification in specific areas is another possibility of releasing the FGTS for women. Courses such as innovation, technology and engineering, for example, are considered the best career opportunities today, but are still dominated by men in the job market.
The measures were signed by President Jair Bolsonaro as part of the Income and Opportunities Program of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. With no deadline for entry into force, the measures were published in the official gazette on May 5th.
The value, limits and duration of use of these two new ways of withdrawing from the FGTS remain subject to supervision by the Board of Trustees of the fund in its own deliberation. In addition to there being no deadline for carrying out this analysis, the entry into force of the new model also has no date.
