However, the Duffer brothers, creators of the series, always commented that the plot would not have many seasons. Now Shawn Levy, director and executive producer of the show, speaks for the first time what he thought of the decision, since the hammer is already beaten and the end of the series will happen in its number 5 season.
What does the director think about the end of the series?
In an interview, Levy commented that it was never in the interest of the production that the series extended to a point that it lost focus just to keep the audience. The director also congratulated the entire team for ensuring that the story arc was not lost trying to force new plots unnecessarily.
“Well, we never wanted to force it, but just tell as many stories as the brothers could see and feel clearly,” he says.
“So it's been clear for a while now that they know exactly where we're going and that's the arc. We didn't want to stay for any moment beyond that vision and clarity", he told Screen Rant, a reference site in entertainment news.
What to expect from season four?
The director also stated that waiting for the fourth season of Stranger Things will be worth it. Thus, he assured that this will be one of the best seasons of the series and that it will have surprises.
In this sense, the first part of the fourth season of Stranger Things has its premiere scheduled for May 27 on the Netflix platform. Part two will be released on July 1st.
Stranger Things could get spin-offs
As much as the series has an end date, fans of the Stranger Things universe may have reasons to get excited, since, apparently, there is the possibility of having productions derived from the series. In an interview that aired last year, Levy said that despite not being concrete information, interest in expanding the content of the plot beyond the plot has already been mentioned in some meetings main.
“What has become clear is that there is an interest and a voracious appetite for any offshoot, any other series format or extension of the franchise, the characters, the mythology. Certainly these conversations hardly evolved, but they are not non-existent either”, he highlighted.
