Again, Facebook was involved in controversies in the United States of America (USA). The company faces a legal dilemma brought by the Federal Trade Commission of the United States (FCT). The charge leveled against big tech is illegal monopoly.
The FCT says that Facebook would have violated the “antitrust law” of the North American country. The reason for the accusation is based on the purchase of the Instagram and WhatsApp applications. The value of each of them was US$ 1 billion and US$ 19 billion, respectively.

In this way, according to the Commission, Mark Zuckerberg's company would be practicing an illegal monopoly. If the complaint is accepted and judged as valid, the consequences can be gigantic.

It is clear then that this is not the first time that Facebook has faced a lawsuit of the same nature. Even though the US court has rejected it, the complaint continues to be filed by the aforementioned Commission.
Still through the note issued, Facebook points out that it always acted in accordance with legal determinations. The acquisitions of WhatsApp and Instagram, according to the note, were "reviewed and approved many years ago".
