Is clothing free on Election Day?
There is no rule that specifically states what clothing is allowed or prohibited in polling areas on Election Day. The general philosophy of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) is that people should act morally, with good judgment.
However, the head of section has the power to pass judgment on anything that goes against that good judgment and to intervene before the electoral judge if necessary. In this way, we can say that there are no restrictions on the use of more casual clothes, such as, for example, flip-flops, shorts and a tank top, but even so, it is advisable to be cautious.
It is highly recommended not to enter the voting section wearing swimwear (such as swimming trunks, swimsuit or bikini, for example) or even shirtless. In such cases, there is a risk of being notified by the section chief and experiencing unnecessary strain.
Electoral campaigns are prohibited (Bottom box)
The Regional Electoral Court of Alagoas (TRE/AL) informs that on election day the individual and silent protest of a voter in favor of his choice of candidate or political party is allowed. In other words, it is acceptable to wear candidate shirts, as well as buttons, hats, and other items.
However, it is prohibited to carry out any type of campaign during polling hours, including singing or handing out T-shirts to voters. For example, a group of people dressed in the same clothes can mean a collective protest or an attempt to vote for others.
Important curiosity: you can take a “glue”
It is allowed and super valid to take that "glue" with the number of candidates when voting. Having this help to remember your candidates will generate an optimization of time in the section. However, keep this note on paper, as cell phone use is prohibited.
