The contestation of a candidacy happens when there are irregularities related to the candidate who is running for election, whether at the municipal, state or federal level. The challenge request can be made by candidates, coalitions, political parties and by the Electoral Public Ministry.
This process is requested from the Superior Electoral Court, which will verify whether there were actions that made the candidate ineligible. If the candidate under investigation is found guilty but has been elected, his diploma may be revoked and a new election may be made.

The companies that manage this 'virtual crowdfunding' can collect, as of May 15 of the respective election year, the resources for the pre-candidates who hired them. These companies need to be registered with the Electoral Justice.
The list with donor data and amounts received must be forwarded to the Electoral Court. The amount can only be released after submitting the candidacy record.
Political parties are also allowed to carry out sales of services, goods, in addition to promoting events to raise funds for campaigns. The TSE prohibited the use of virtual currencies, such as bitcoin. D

The TSE restricted political advertising in the 2018 elections. Sound cars and minitrios are now allowed only in motorcades, marches, rallies and walks. In addition, the maximum volume must be 80 decibels.
Rallies can only be held between eight in the morning and midnight. The exception is at the end of campaigns, when rallies can go on until two in the morning. Advertising on billboards is not allowed.
