What skills are recruiters looking for in a professional?
In an interview with Exame Magazine, the bank's vice-president of recruitment, Phil Haynes, stated that the company's biggest challenge is to maintain a close relationship with the employee. Phil also says that the bank is very strict with the so-called “cultural fit”.
The executive adds that, sometimes, some people are not hired, even if they are highly qualified, because they do not fit into Nubank's corporate culture. “We live our values, we have very strong values. If you know that these values resonate with you, we will be a great destination, but we are not necessarily a great destination for everyone,” he stressed.
Hard and soft skills
According to Haynes, at the time of the job interview, the so-called “hard skills” are usually the easiest to identify in a candidate. For a product manager, designer or software engineer, for example, these skills are quite simple. The “soft skills” refer to the way in which the professional relates to other employees, if he works with a focus on the client, among others. In this case, they are skills that are more difficult to identify.
“We really look for soft skills around people who are willing to take responsibility and see processes and procedures through to completion. We also seek efficiency. Obviously, high growth comes with high costs. And so we are always trying to balance growth in efficiency”, highlights the executive.
