Data from Abrasce (Brazilian Association of Shopping Centers) show that this number of malls contributes to the economy, moving a total of more than 192 billion reais annually. Also because they generate many jobs in stores, cleaning and maintenance services and, mainly, leisure.

Sao Paulo (SP): Shopping Center Leste Aricanduva
The largest mall in the country is in the city of São Paulo, and it is the Shopping Center Leste Aricanduva. The shopping center is not only the largest retail area in Brazil, but also in all of Latin America.
With a huge area of 425,000 m², its usable area is 242,000 m². A little over 5 million people visit the mall every month, as it offers many options for entertainment and services.
Fortaleza (CE): Rio Mar Shopping Fortaleza
The city of Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará, is home to the second largest mall in Brazil. Rio Mar Shopping Fortaleza has 320,000 m² of built area and 93,000 m² of undeveloped land. A curiosity about this chain is that they are part of the same group as the Rio Mar mall in Recife, but they are bigger.
Salvador (BA): Salvador Shopping
Salvador Shopping completes the podium in the ranking of the largest shopping centers in Brazil, taking third place. The largest commercial area built in the North zone has a total of 298 m².
With more than 460 stores, more than 6,000 parking spaces and also 8 large movie theaters, this mall still has around 1,500 square meters dedicated exclusively to games, including the electronics.
