This survey showed that around 70% of mothers say they give allowance to children and young people, while only 29% of men offer the same to their children. Among those interviewed, 89% said they talk to young people about their family's financial issues.
The result is approximately eight percentage points more than men.
It is also important to say that the research collected elements from a little more than 1600 people who use the Agreement Right website. It was through the data provided by them that information was collected that confirm the fact that that among people who spend more than they should, women correspond to 48% and men to 52%.
This is due to the likelihood that men have greater difficulty in resisting the urge to buy something. Now when it comes to financial education for children, 87% of women talk about how important it is to work and also save the money earned. That percentage drops to 80% with men.
“Women's concern regarding financial education is much greater when compared to men's concern about teaching their children about the subject. In fact, financial education can end up being a very important tool during this transformation. that is empowering women even more, making them safer when taking some decision. The journey will still be quite long, but what matters is that the first steps are already being taken towards the destination they aspire to”, said Bruna Allemann, who is a financial educator at Accord Certo.
Women manage expenses better
It is worth emphasizing another very important point to finalize the subject: it was pointed out by the survey that 91% of women, before even if they leave home with their children, they already warn the children that they won't be able to buy anything for them because of the lack of money. The percentage about the same situation changes when men are asked, as the number drops to 71%.
We also have information that the majority of people who receive government benefits, in the case of social programs such as Auxílio Brasil, are women. This is because about 60% of the households that are “headed” by them are below the poverty line. It is because of this delicate situation that they learn, often by force, to manage expenses.
