How does unemployment insurance work?
This aid from the federal government acts as a "support" to guarantee the worker's livelihood after being fired, until he gets another job. It is worth remembering that it has a maximum duration of five months and is available only to workers:
- Dismissed without just cause;
- Properly registered under CLT regime.
The time of the aid is proportional to the time recorded in the work card. The number of times the worker applied for unemployment insurance is also taken into account.
Thus, workers who have been with a company for 12 to 23 months and apply for the benefit for the first time will receive four installments. If the time worked was more than 24 months, he will receive five installments.
However, in the second or third application for unemployment insurance, in addition to the four or five installments, the worker may receive three installments if you are fired after working at a company for 9-11 months (on the second order) or 6-11 months (on the third order).
